The beginnings...

In 2013, a leading human resources consultant company was asked to evaluate 11 European locations to search the perfect location for Business Service Center in Europe. There were compared factors like labor laws, costs, availability and quality, combined with infrastructure, the business environment, customer-orientation, competitors and quality of life, and found that in the final round, Košice beat Budapest in a close race, with the high availability of multilingual, university-educated talents playing a decisive role in their deliberations. A history of generous subsidy grants from the Slovak government also weighed in to ultimately make the decision easier.

Ready! Steady! Go...

In March 2014 the new BSC office was opened on 730 square meters in a central location on the edge of Košice’s picturesque old town. The opening ceremony was held in presence of Mayor Richard Raši along with invited representatives of the City of Košice, the IT Valley and local Universities. The office architecture is highly modern, with exposed concrete and specific elements, referring to LafargeHolcim’s operations and products. In April 2015, the offices were enlarged by another 1600 square meters to become, from the design and technical point of view,  the number one in Košice. In December 2015 the center was re-branded to LafargeHolcim European Business Services.

Here, a staff of professionals is providing support to partner group companies in Europe from financial transactions, such as accounting, invoicing, and master data maintenance, to HR administration and payroll. These are concentrated in four main streams: Finance, Procurement, Commercial Services & Banking and Human Resources.

University graduates occupy 90 of the BSC positions, with 100 speaking English and 65 speaking two foreign languages. Up to now, we have employees from Germany, Azerbaijan, Spain, Russia, France, Hungary, Croatia, Czech, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, of course Slovakia and one from Switzerland, which means we are open to recruiting from anywhere!
